SAN PEDRO (KTLA) -- A San Pedro man accused of threatening a local city councilwoman via Facebook pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony count of making threats against an elected official.
Paul Dean Andrews, 28, was arrested at his home last March and pleaded not guilty to charges that he sent Villa Park City Councilwoman Deborah Pauly death threats on Facebook.
The alleged threats, which were sent in a message on the social networking site, included a threat to harm her with weapons.
Pauly came under intense public scrutiny after making anti-muslim remarks at a demonstration in February outside an event held by the Islamic Circle of North American Relief.
Andrews was sentenced to 97 days in jail and three years probation.
He is also barred from having any contact with Pauly.
