Camille Grammer Wants The Kids

Camille Grammer has fired back at ex-hubby Kelsey Grammer and is asking for primary custody of the couple's two kids ... this according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

In the docs, Camille's lawyers Neal Hersh and Judy Bogen grouse that Kelsey made a "bad faith" media play when he asked the judge last month for primary custody of Mason and Jude.

The lawyers note that the kids live in California and have needs that will go unfulfilled if they leave the state. According to the public documents, Camille is particularly pissed off that Kelsey wants to take the kids out of California for part of the summer, since Jude has had learning problems, repeating kindergarten twice, and Mason wants to go to a local camp.

BET Will Continue To Air Rihanna 'Murder' Video

BET is sticking to their guns after airing Rihanna's new "Man Down" music video -- which contains a brutal murder scene -- telling TMZ, they will continue to air it ... despite one really angry group of parents.
A rep for BET tells us the network refuses to pull the video -- explaining, BET "has a comprehensive set of standards and guidelines that are applied to all of our content. The Rihanna 'Man Down' video complied with these guidelines and was approved for air."

As previously reported, the Parents Television Council called on BET to pull the video yesterday -- claiming it depicted a "cold, calculated execution of murder" ... and wasn't suitable for television.

But the people have decided -- the rep for BET said, the video has already made today's top 10 countdown.

NPR's Vivian Schiller Now at NBC

Vivian Schiller, the former president and CEO of National Public Radio, will join NBC News as the head of digital projects, the company announced on Thursday morning.

In March, Schiller was ousted from her NPR post by its board of directors after another NPR executive was caught in a hidden camera video slamming Republicans and the Tea Party.

Schiller has the credentials for the NBC gig, she used to run the New York Times' web site.

The video that led to her ouster at NPR was a set-up by conservative activist James O'Keefe. In the clip, published on O'Keefe's website, Ron Schiller (no relation to Vivian Schiller) tells a fake group of Muslim NPR supporters that the Tea Party was made up of "seriously racist, racist people."

California state assembly passes bill to tax online retailers

The California State Assembly approved a measure (AB155 ) on Tuesday that would collect taxes from online retailers. Other states have passed similar measures, known as "Amazon laws" after the online retail giant that's at the center of the e-commerce controversy. California would be the biggest, however, and would stand to reap over one billion dollars annually in new tax revenue.

The Internet has long been the go-to place for small appliances, according to our annual "Where to Buy Appliances" survey. But more consumers are now purchasing major appliances online as well. For example, 8.7 percent of people who bought a refrigerator in 2010 did so on the Internet, up from 2.2 percent in 2003, according to Synovate, a market-research company. (If you go this route, we strongly recommend you visit a brick-and-mortar showroom first to see how the fit, finish, and features of possible models compare in real life).

As more big-ticket appliances are sold on the Internet, the stakes in online sales tax will only increase. During a visit last month to Consumer Reports' headquarters, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos argued that federal legislation is needed to rectify the issue. "Our point-of-view on this is that we should simplify the sales tax system, and we’ve been insisting on this for 10 years," he said. "We support the streamlined sales tax initiative, and 22 states have signed on. The right way to fix this is with federal legislation."

For now, California is moving forward with its measure, albeit with stiff opposition from Republicans, who say the bill will hurt business and push the state into the murky business of Internet regulation.

Jane Lynch To Host Emmys

Jane Lynch, whose portrayal of the acerbic cheerleader coach Sue Sylvester in Fox's "Glee" scored an Emmy award last year, will host the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards Sept. 18 on Fox.

The announcement of Lynch prompts one question: Will she be appearing as herself, or will she conduct her hosting duties as Sylvester? Lynch has appeared at several events, including the opening number at last year's Emmys and the recent Fox upfronts, as Sylvester.

One clue may have come from Lynch in her acceptance statement: "I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox. I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit."

Mark Burnett, executive producer of the awards, said Lynch was "my first -- and only -- choice as the host for this year's Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said yes."

FBI will investigate Gmail hacking

The FBI will launch an investigation into the hacking of hundreds of Gmail accounts in China, among which were the accounts of some U.S. officials, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday, according to a report.

Google officials said Wednesday they were able to stop the hack, which was in the form of a phishing scam, but also said they believed the hackers monitored the Gmail activity of Chinese political activists, journalists and government and military officials from the U.S. and other Asian countries -- predominantly South Korea.

Clinton said Thursday that Google's claims were "very serious" and that the Obama administration was disturbed by the incident, according to the Associated Press.

On Wednesday, Google said the hacking campaign appeared to originate from Jinan, China, and that all of the affected Gmail users had been notified of what happened and their accounts had been made secure again.

This isn't the first Gmail problem in China. In March, Google said the Chinese government was blocking certain users' access to Gmail. The Chinese government denied those claims as well, saying Google's accusations of Gmail tampering were unacceptable.

A representative for Lifetime tells TMZ that a made-for-tv movie called "Bling Ring" is in the works for later this summer.

They're accused of stealing some $3 million worth of cash and jewelry from celebrities' homes in the Hollywood Hills from late 2008 to the summer of 2009.

Neiers eventually pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 180 days in jail. She spent 30 days behind bars and at one point, was incarcerated at the same time as one of her alleged victims, Lindsay Lohan.

Neiers later got a reality show on E! called "Pretty Wild."

Mildred Baena -- I Never signed Birth Certificate!

Mildred "Patty" Baena didn't commit fraud on the birth certificate that names her estranged husband as the father of Arnold Schwarzenegger's love child ... because she never signed it.
Patty is telling friends she never asked to put hubby Rogelio Baena on the document. Patty is saying she never told Rogelio or anyone else at the hospital that he was the father. Patty says Rogelio directed hospital staff to put his name on the birth certificate -- which Patty never signed.

Patty is saying Rogelio wanted his name on the document because he believed it would help him score U.S. citizenship.

Rogelio is making noise that he wants to sue Patty and Arnold for tricking him into thinking he was the father for 13 years, but Patty says she made it clear to him during her pregnancy that he wasn't the daddy.

'Play It, Say It' Rolls Out At CBS Radio

It was last week that CBS RADIO Pres./CEO DAN MASON had sent out an internal e-mail that pledged to work more closely with record companies and their artists by doing more to identify the music titles CBS RADIO stations play.

"Effective immediately, CBS RADIO Contemporary, Rock, Urban and Country stations will increase the integration of title and artist information on new music releases in an effort to personalize, and drive sales of the product," he wrote. "We will also be expanding our radio play history online as far back as several years, providing a living synopsis of the songs we feature on the air for anyone to access."

That move is now being discussed in the mainstream press, with THE NEW YORK TIMES writing, "It would seem one of the basic tasks of any disk jockey: tell listeners the name of the song they just heard. But last week the head of a major radio company felt compelled to instruct its programmers to start identifying more of the songs played on the air, by title and artist name."

"At one point in our culture there were well-schooled retailers who could help people figure out what that song was, because they wanted to buy it," said EMI MUSIC EVP/Marketing & Promotion GREG THOMPSON. "In this day and age that doesn't exist," he told THE TIMES.
