CBS has canceled freshman series $#*! My Dad Says, The Defenders and Mad Love.
$#*! My Dad Says, based on the Twitter handle of the same name and headlined by William Shatner, debuted to 12.5 million before dropping to 9.8 million for its season finale following The Big Bang Theory. The sitcom wrapped its first season in February after CBS cut its episode order from 22 to 18.
The Defenders, which paired Jim Belushi with Jerry O'Connell, also saw its first-year order shortened to 18 episodes and was moved from Wednesdays at 10/9c to Fridays at 8/7c earlier this year. The legal drama averaged a little more than 8 million viewers.
The relationship comedy Mad Love, starring Sarah Chalke and Jason Biggs, debuted midseason and drew 5.11 million viewers for its most recent new episode on May 9.
CBS picks up J.J. Abrams' Person of Interest, Two Broke Girls comedy
The news comes two days after CBS announced its first two pick-ups for next season: the comedy Two Broke Girls and the drama Person of Interest. The network will present its full fall schedule Wednesday in New York.
