Three Suspects in Murder of MTV Coordinator Plead Not Guilty

LOS ANGELES -- Three people accused in the murder-robbery spree that claimed the life of an MTV employee pleaded not guilty Thursday to all charges.

Destiny Young faces murder and robbery charges.

Jabaar Thomas and Richard Anderson also face robbery charges, but may soon face murder charges as well.

A preliminary hearing is set for next week.

The three are suspected in a series of 10 robberies and two murders in Los Angeles, including the execution-style slaying of MTV music coordinator Gabriel Aron Ben-Meir.

The trio is also suspected in the robbery-related murder of Marcelo Aragon.  The 35-year old was shot several times with a shotgun as he walked through a residential area in the 2700 block of West 12th Street about 3:45 a.m.

According to authorities, the suspects used a shotgun during more than a dozen street and business robberies in the Mid-City, Southwest L.A. and Wilshire areas.

30-year old Ben-Meir was shot once in the back of the head with a shotgun.  The body of the 30-year-old music coordinator was found by a neighbor walking his dog just steps from his apartment on Packard Street in the Mid-City area.  Investigators believe Ben-Meir may have been confronted as he walked the short distance from his car to his house.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ben-Meir worked for MTV as a music and production coordinator on such shows as The Hard Times of RJ Berger, Parental Control and Punk'd.
