Vancouver Riot Kissing Couple

KTLA's Jessica Holmes made an attempt to talk about this photo, but the anchors at the desk insisted it was fake and someone was pulling a fast one on her -- don't they do any research at KTLA?

The picture is real and here is the true story:

Scott Jones, an Australian, and Alex Thomas, a Canadian, had been at the Stanley Cup finals seventh game and were caught in the post-loss rioting in downtown Vancouver.

She had been knocked down and injured by a police officer’s riot shield when Jones went down to cover and comfort her and gave her a kiss.

His mother says "I just thought, yep, that would be Scott because he’s a bit of a dreamer and he wouldn’t have even known there was a riot going on around him, quite possibly,” Ms. Jones said with a laugh.

Thomas suffered minor scrapes and bruises. The couple is reportedly comng to California later this summer — hmm, how many talk shows will they be on?

The photo was made by Rich Lam for Getty Images.
