Weather officials have issued a high-surf advisory for local beaches through Friday, with waves as high as 10 feet possible.
The National Weather Service said people should avoid standing on jetties during this period. Officials said low-level flooding is also possible in area such as Orange County, Malibu and Pacific Palisades.
The advisory lasts through Friday at 6 p.m. and focuses on south-facing beaches.
The waves could reach 9 feet in parts of L.A. and Ventura counties and 10 feet in Orange County.
