Julie Pacino, the 21-year-old daughter of actor Al Pacino, was arrested early Saturday morning in New York City for driving while intoxicated, People magazine reported.
The arrest occurred at 1:35 a.m. after she drove her Mercedes-Benz through a DWI checkpoint in Manhattan.
Her exact blood-alcohol level was not immediately available.
"She had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and the strong smell of alcohol on her breath," NYPD officer James Duffy told People, quoting the police report. "She admitted to drinking three beers and smoking marijuana prior to entering the checkpoint."
After learning of the arrest, Al Pacino rushed back from Los Angeles, where he has been filming a biopic on music producer Phil Spector.
The daughter of the Oscar-winning star and acting coach Jan Tarrant, Julie Pacino attended UCLA, where she was a member of the softball team.
She was arraigned Saturday afternoon and released on her own recognizance.
