KABC -- Thousands of people from Southern California are expected to take to the streets Tuesday night for the 28th annual National Night Out.
The idea is to get people involved in the safety of their own communities, and the prevention of crime and drug abuse.There will be events held all over the Southland including Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Hollywood.
The events often include free food, music and visits from police officers.
