INDIO -- The Coachella music festival will expand to two weekends next  year, its promoters said on Tuesday.
The event will take place on April  13-15 and April 20-22, and feature the same acts over both  weekends.
Weekend passes for the 2012 edition will cost $269 plus fees  and will go on sale Friday (June 3) at 10a.m. via the event's website.
Headliners at Coachella in 2011 included Kings of Leon, The Black Keys , Kanye  West and Duran Duran.
Tickets went on sale in January and sold out in six  days, prompting promoters (Goldenvoice) to expand the 2012 edition.
Daily capacity at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio -- where  the event is held -- is about 90,000 people.
