Santa Monica Pier Paddleboard Race & Ocean Festival

This summer the Santa Monica Paddle Race and Ocean Festival connects paddling's ... museum that will take over the Santa Monica Pier, Saturday June 11th.  

Gidget herself, Kathy Kohner-Zuckerman's will be a guest of honor at the kickoff of Saturday's event, which benefits Heal the Bay.

Race categories include traditional paddleboard, stand up paddle, life guard dory and outrigger canoe races.

There will also be veterans of the former paddleboard era.
