Gas relief!?!

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.23.

The average price is 5.2 cents less than one week ago, but 2.1 cents more than one month ago and $1.109 higher than it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose 43 times in 45 days before the streak of decreases began.

The Orange County average price also fell for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.207.   The average price is 4.6 cents less than one week ago, but 1.2 cents more than one month ago and $1.085 higher than one year ago.

The average price rose 42 times in 45 days before the streak of decreases began.

Analysts credit the decreases to the declining cost of crude oil.
