Judge in no hurry on McCourt and Dodger sale

So it looks as if owner Frank McCourt will not be able to meet payroll at the end of the month because he can't get the lucrative Fox deal past Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig. If payroll is not met, Selig could effectively seize the team and put it up for sale.

McCourt's estranged wife Jamie isn't wild about that idea because she doesn't believe Selig would get full value. So she wants the court to order that the Dodgers be sold - immediately, before Selig gains control. Frank McCourt doesn't want to sell the team - and doesn't believe his wife should have any say in the Fox deal.

Got that? Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon heard the various arguments this morning and set a June 22 court date on the issue. That means if Frank can't meet payroll in another 10 days or so, he'll be on his own. That means Jamie won't be getting an expedited sale.  Dodger attendance keeps slipping compared with last year.

  1. You should take the Dodgers logo and change it to say "Divorcers"!
