405 Freeway To Reopen TODAY!

Work on the half-century-old Mulholland Bridge is ahead of schedule and according to Caltrans, the 405 Freeway is expected to reopen as early as 11 a.m. Sunday.

The freeway, one of the nation’s busiest, will be fully functional by 3 p.m., according to Caltrans.“Anything that lets us give the freeway back to the motorists is a dream come true,” Judy Gish of Caltrans said.

According to Gish, some debris still needs cleaning up and final inspections need to be made.
“So things are kind of dynamic. The mayor’s planning a press conference and, after that point, I think we’ll have a better idea.”

The news conference is set for 11 a.m. Sunday.
