Candy, love and a little edge from Katy Perry at Nokia

DN -- Katy Perry rocked at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live for the first of three sold out shows from her California Dreams Tour.

The theatrics of the show were exactly as one would expect from the singer who has become more of a character or personality, and that's not a reference to her animated role in her new movie "The Smurfs."

While her radio hits like "Waking up in Vegas" and "Last Friday Night" got the crowd up out of their seats, pumping their fists into the air, it was the songs where she stripped it down that showcased her seemingly perfect voice.

Trying to create the atmosphere of a karaoke bar, she brought out a special guest that fit just right for the occasion. Halfway into a cover of Rebecca Black's web sensation "Friday," the young teen herself appeared from the side of the stage to join Perry.

Saving the best for last, Perry magically changed clothes at least five times during "Last Friday Night." The show is worth seeing again just to figure out how some of these wardrobe changes happened.
