The Breeders' Cup World Championship will return to Santa Anita Park in 2012, officials announced today.
The track in Arcadia has hosted the race five times -- In 2008 and 2009, the races set records for attendance, betting and generating close to $60 million for the region
Despite the fact that Santa Anita Park is in Arcadia, Mayor Villaraigosa said, "We are proud and delighted to once again host the Breeders' Cup ... and to welcome the legion of loyal racing fans to Southern California."
