Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Banned In Glendale

LAist -- After nearly two years of vetting their legal right to do so, Glendale has banned medical marijuana dispensaries as of Tuesday night, reports Glendale News-Press.

The ban will become effective on September 9, about two weeks before an existing moratorium prohibiting the dispensaries expires.

Using zoning code to ban businesses that violate federal, state or local laws from operation, Glendale's ordinance also identifies medical marijuana dispensaries as banned in all zones.

Los Angeles has endured a series of dispensary prohibition this year. Medical pot supporters in Brea recently protested the city's mission to shut down local dispensaries.

Will medical marijuana advocates in Glendale protest?
