NBC4’s Robert Kovacik and former CNN Business News Correspondent Stephanie Elam will anchor the station’s 6PM and 11PM weekend newscasts, it was announced today by Vickie Burns, NBC4 Vice President and News Director.
Since March, 2011, Kovacik has served as interim solo anchor on the weekend newscasts at 6PM and 11PM. He is also a multi-award-winning reporter, who has been with the station since July, 2004.
Elam is a former CNN business news correspondent whose reports could be seen on CNN, HLN and CNN International. A native of California, Elam relocated to LA with her family in May of this year after 20 years on the East coast.
NBC4 also welcomes a new general assignment reporter. Edward R. Murrow-winning journalist Antonio Castelan joins the station from CW Affiliate San Diego 6 (XETV) where he was a reporter since October, 2007.
