Police Blow up Briefcase In Beverly Hills

KTLA -- A suspicious briefcase that forced the evacuation of several buildings in Beverly Hills today ended up containing the script of an aspiring screenwriter.

Unfortunately, the nature of the contents came to light only after the bomb squad had detonated the briefcase.

The unidentified screenwriter reportedly left the briefcase unattended near Rodeo Drive and Little Santa Monica Boulevard just before 10:30 a.m.

Police were called in to investigate and decided to detonate the briefcase as a safety precaution.

The screenwriter's laptop was also in the briefcase, police say.
